Garrocher Tree farm began life as James Craig Ltd in 1889, when the original James Craig started selling livestock by auction within the county town of Ayr. He quickly grew the company, expanding geographically and moving into farming, thereby creating the basis of the current family business which is still thriving a century later.
We have dedicated plantations of Christmas trees at farms just outside both Ayr and Newton Stewart. Our sales season lasts for only three weeks a year, which allows us to pick the freshest possible product and to sell virtually from the farm gate.
Our dedicated team is still family-run through the latest generation, Michael Craig, supported by our plantation manager, Martin Mackenzie.
We are extremely proud to be farmers in Ayrshire and, in our peak season, are able to provide local employment for dozens of people.
